vignettes
MY LOVE LETTER TO MY CULTURE
Through the medium of interior design I have developed a series of conceptual vignettes inspired by the African diaspora around the world. My objective is is to evoke the strength, joy, resilience, beauty and power of the Black experience. I hope that these images inspire you as much as my community has and continues to inspire me.
Black Beauty
“I need to see my own beauty and to continue to be reminded that I am enough, that I am worthy of love without effort, that I am beautiful, that the texture of my hair and the shape of my curves, the size of my lips, the color of my skin, and the feelings that I have are all worthy and okay.” - Tracee Ellis Ross
black elegance
“Dipped in chocolate, bronzed in elegance, enameled with grace, toasted with beauty. My Lord, she’s a Black Woman.” - Dr. Yosef Ben-Jochannan
black serenity
“Serenity is not freedom from the storm, but peace amid the storm.” - Unknown
